(Per United Press Association.) ROTORUA, September 6. The New Zealand veterans’ annual tournament, which was opened on Tuesday, has now reached the semi-final stage. The perfect weather conditions which prevailed the previous week for the Rotorua open championships has continued for the veterans, and the matches were played under ideal conditions. Veterans from practically every club in the North Island and from as far south as Timaru are competing, the age minimum being 55. In the quarter finals played to-day E. M. Hutchison beat C. E. Kusabs, two up, F. Brabant beat R. Phelan, three and one, A. B. Laurence beat C. E. Torlesse, four and three, and F. W. Wilkie beat R. Rainger, three and two. Raingcr set a course driving record by hitting his second shot at the first a distance of 33C yards.
