Fat Sheep.—Only 1000 were penned—a very small entry. There was only a few pens of prime wethers forward, and those sold under keen competition at prices that showed a sharp rise on last week s rates. The yarding of ewes was of good quality, and these also met with improved prices. From the commencement of the auction prices for wethers showed an advance of about 3s, but for ewes this was not quite so evident. The sale, however, was erratic, and did not hold, a gradual easing being noticeable over the last three races and receding for all grades of heavy sheep to last week’s rates. Medium and light sheep held firm. Extra , prime heavy wethers made to 39s 6d; prime heavy, from 28s to 355; medium and light, from 20a to 25s 6d; extra prime heavy ewes, to 31s 9d; prime heavy ewes, 25s to 28s; medium and lighter, 18s to 21s. —The Otago Farmers’ Co-operative Association of New Zealand.
