CHARGES OF BESETTING
RELEASE OF MEN SUGGESTED MINISTER DECLINES TO INTERFERE. (Per United Pkess Association.) WELLINGTON, September fl. The release of the seven prisoners sent to gaol on besetting charges in connection with the relief workers’ strike was urged upon the Minister of Justice (Mr J, G. Cobbe) by a deputation of workers to-day. . The clearness of tho law and the dangers of infringing it were emphasised by Mr Cobbe in reply. He regretted he could not interfere with the sentence of the magistrate.
