STUDENT BREAKS WORLD’S RECORD BERLIN, August 4. With a packet of sandwiches and a bottle of water, Kurt Schmitt, a student at Konigsberg, anticipating a short flight, started in a motorless glider from Korschcnruhe at 7.30 yesterday morning. He broke the German record at 2 a.m. to-day, and the world’s record at 6 a.m. He landed at 8.30 to-night.
