(Received August 6, at 7 p.m.) A general conference of the Committee of Railwayman is announced for Friday, immediate steps being taken to hold a strike poll among 24.000 men of the running trades on the Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Railways. A vote will be taken among the engineers, firemen, conductors, trainmen and telegraphists whether they accept the second 10 per cent, reduction in wages or walk out.
