• ♦ RUGBY FOOTBALL. The Waitaki Sub-union referees for Saturday arc as follow: —Duntroon v. Awakino (Mr T. Direen) ; Georgetown v. Kurow (Mr T. Butler). KUROW JOCKEY CLUB. The annual meeting of the Kurow Jockey Club was hold on Monday evening, the president (Mr A. S. Cambridge) occupying the chair. The secretary (Mr R. W. A. Munro) read the annual report and balance sheet, Which were adopted. In vacating the chair the president thanked the committee for its assistance during the year, also paying a tribute lo the late Messrs W. 11. Ross and Green. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Air A. S. Cambridge; vice-president, Air C. L, Ayson; secretary and treasurer, Air It. W. A. Munro; 1 auditor, Air R. S. It was decided to give fl Is to the funds of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. NEW ZEALAND LEGION. Air A. S. Cambridge occupied the chair at the meeting of the New Zealand Legion held at the Omarama Hall on June 27. The meeting was one of the largest seen there for many years. Alessrs Kron and Forrester were the speakers. At the conclusion of their address they were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A branch w'as formed, with Air A. S. Cambridge as president.
