President Hindenburg has accepted Dr Hugenberg’s resignation, and appointed Herr Kurt Schmitt Minister of Economics and Herr Walter Darrc Minister of Food. The Centre section of the City Council voluntarily dissolved, and asked permission to join the Nazis. Similar action was taken at Cologne. ' The Bavarian Government confiscated the funds and property of the Catholic organisations. The Prussian Government suppressed the International Bible Research Society. High Nazi officials (Cordeman, Maritz, Wolf and Zucker) were arrested at Herr Hitler’s orders, and charged with attempting to interfere with his economic decisions. EX-CHANCELLOR ARRESTED CHARGES OP CORRUPTION. BERLIN, June 29. The Socialist ex-Chancellor (Gustav Bauer) has been arrested on charges of corruption involving self-enrichment at the expense of the taxpayers. POSITION IN AUSTRIA INTIMIDATION RESENTED. INNSBRUCK, June 29. -. Bella rang, 15,000 people cheered, and the bishop blessed Dr Dolfuss after he had declared that he would not allow Austria to submit to Nazi intimidation. Opinion in Innsbruck has markedly changed in favour of the Government.
