DEPRESSION OVER IN ENGLAND BRIGHTER AMERICAN OUTLOOK. (Per United Press Association.! WELLINGTON, June 26. A through passenger by the Maunganui to Svdney from San Francisco is Sir Robert Garran, of Sydney, who presided over the'tribunal in London to advise the British Government on certain questions regarding the apportionment of the defence expenditure for India. Sir Robert, who recently retired from the position of Solicitor-general to the Commonwealth Government, made a tour of England after the tribunal had made his report. He said the depression complex seemed almost to have disappeared. On the other hand, America was still feeling very seriously the effects of the depression, but the people had great hopes for the future under the Roosevelt regime.
