Ulm advised through Amalgamated Wireless that he was over Timor at 10.30 p.m.—Greenwich mean time 11.15. His progress was good, but the weather was overcast. i SINGAPORE, June 24. (Received June 25, at 8 p.m.) Flight-lieutenant Ulm arrived at 3.54 p.m., or 4.30 Derby time. He says he had an interesting fast flight over the water, via the Bali Strait and the Java Sea, occupying 16* hours for the 1850 miles. All are well pleased with the fastest time recorded between Australia and Singapore. SINGAPORE, June 25. (Received June 25, at 6.30 p.m.) Ulm departed for Rangoon at 5 a.m. When the Faith in monoplane was christened on June 16 in Sydney, the owner and commander, Mr O. T. P. Ulm, announced that his plans were to fly ‘to England, and probably back again. “ There has been some talk of our plans being a mystery,” he said. “ I want now to announce that there has been no mystery whatever. We wanted to be certain that the machine would do its job before we made any announcement. It has completed its trials and has put up such a creditable performance that we have supreme confidence in it. We will not promise to break any records, but if we have a reasonable amount of luck we hope to reach England in about, or under, eight days.” Mr Ulm described the machine as Australian made, though some portions if jt had been fabricated abroad. He said Wing-commander Wackctt had attended to the designing features.
