ALLEGED SPIES
ARRESTS IN JUGOSLAVIA FORMER ARMY OFFICERS. BELGRADE, June 15. The Jugoslavian police have arrested a number of persons accused of espionage, some of whom have confessed their guilt. Among those taken into custody was Lieutenant-colonel Mitzitsch, formerly of the Austro-Hungarian army, who is said to have been for two years in the secret service of two neighbouring countries. Three other ex-officers of the AustroHungarian Army, all Jugoslavian nationals, were also arrested, as well as two foreigners who had settled down as traders in Dubrovnik, Russia. The police had great difficulty in dealin" with agitated crowds that assembled in°Agram, the capital of Croatia, when youths who had taken pait in a toichlight procession, organised by the Union Indranska Strazza, tried to approach the Italian Consulate to demonstrate and protest against hostile speeches by Fascist youths, and the incident of the burning a Jugoslavian flag. Before the procession could reach the Italian Consulate the police broke it up, and, later, when it was reorganised, the police brought up reinforcements, and, attacking vigorously, put an end to it.
