ANNUAL MIDWINTER CONTEST. (Per Uniteo Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 25. With the water at a temperature of 50 degrees, 10 hardy Wellington swimmers contested the annual midwinter 50 Yards Handicap at Te Aro Baths to-day. E. Pateman (ssec) won the event by about an inch from S. Neal (6sec). M. Feilding (Isec) and L. Stohr (scr) deadheated for third place.
