TESTIMONIAL TO MRS BLACK
ARRANGEMENTS FOR PRESENTATION. The final meeting of those who have been actively interesting themselves un the organisation of a testimonial to Mrs 11. S. Black in recognition of that ladys services to the city during her terra as Mayoress was held last evening, and tue reports received indicated that a very satisfactory sura had been contributed. The chairman (Mr S. B. Macdonald) announced that arrangements bad been completed for the presentation to be made in the Concert Chamber, Town Hall, on Monday evening, July 3. A first-class concert programme was to _ be. provided, and all citizens were to be invited to attend, admission being free. Some discussion took place regarding the form which the presentation would take, and the matter was fin? By left in the hands of a sub-committee, with power to act. All other necessary arrangements for the occasion were left in the hands of the chairman and the hon. secretary (Mr 6. A. Wycherley).
