The following are the best scores of the weekly shoot of the Kurow Miniature Rifle Club:-—W. B. Appleby, jun., 74, G. Donald 72, G. Shaw 70, J. Curie 69, E. Christianson 69, T. Sanders 68. RELIEF OF DISTRESS. A meeting of the residents of Kurow and surrounding districts was held in the Kurow Hall on Thursday afternoon for the purpose of discussing way a and means of relieving distress and receiving the report of the committee for the past year. Mr N. Hayes occupied the chair. The secretary (Mr D. E. Neave) read the balance sheet, which disclosed that apart from donations of goods in kind the sum of £9O was raised, most of which had been spent in providing clothes, groceries, etc., leaving a small balance to be carried forward. The chairman thanked all those who had assisted the committee and Mr ; A. MTnnes (county chairman) congratulated the district on the comparatively small amount of distress existing. The new Executive Committee is as follows;—Messrs J. L. M'Phail (chairman), A. Davidson (secretary), Mesdames T. A. Munro, M. Lawlor,; Miss Goddard, Sister Smith, Messrs H. Barclay, L. Paveltich, D. E. Neave, the Revs, A. H. Nordmeyer, J. Moreland, and Dr D. G. M'Millan. The general and sub-com-mittees elected were the same as last year.
