COLLAPSE IN CHURCH
DEATH OF A PRIEST. Father John Parker, while officiating at the evening devotions at St. Mary’s Church, East Orange, New South Wales, on May 8, returned to flic sacristy to put on vestments for the benediction. He then walked to the altar and announced that he was sorry that he could not -ontinuc, as he did not feel well. He returned to the sacristy, where he collapsed. Members of the congregation gave assistance and be was removed to, a private hospital, where he died soon afterwards.
Father Parker' was 40 years of age. He was a native of Capertec, and was educated at St. Patrick’s College, Manly, and ordained there in 1000. Since then ho had been connected with the Bathurst diocese, being stationed at a number of western towns. Ho went to Orange in January last.
