PERSONAL AND SOCIAL
On Tuesday evening the members of the St, Hilda's Old Girls’ Association met in the Somerset Lounge of the Savoy where, owing to the absence of the president (Mrs Lotting| through bereavement, Mrs A. A. Fairbairn was hostess. There were two competitions during the evening, one of which was won by Mrs Harty and .the other by Miss Madge yates, a one-act play—“ Minuet "—charmingly presented'by Misses Madge Yates, Kathleen Quaifc, and Billie Mitchell, and a playreading— ‘‘ The Voice of the People by Alan Mulgan, those taking part being Mesdames Harty, Stephens, and Fairbairn, and Misses P. Scoullar and B. Mitchell. The evening was a very enjoyable one. There were present: —Mesdames Fairbairn, Podgshun, Harty, Stephens, Barling, Neil, Labes, Lee, and Cookson, and Misses D. Blackmore. M. Fcatherstonc, Marjorie Allan, Mary Allan, Eva Allah, J. Burnside, L. Burnside, N. Crawshaw, I. Newlands, M. Holloway, R. Thomas, P. Thomas, Ballard, B. Mitchell, M. Yates, K. Quaife, H. Tyrell, 0. Tyrell, L. Barnett, P, Evans, \Y. Mondy, M. Brent, E. Blyth, R. Phillips, D. Scoular, A. Richarcla. I. Irwin, C. Falconer, K. Falconer, and G. Paape.
