CLINTON RIFLE CLUB
The annual ball . and presentation of prizes of the Clinton Defence Rifle Club was held on Friday last. The president (Mr W. Semple) introduced the president and the secretary of the Southland Rifle Association, Dr Ritchie Crawford and Mr C. H. Cunningham. Dr Ritchie Crawford addressed the gathering before making the presentations. The trophies were then presented to the following members:—W. E. Leggett’s trophy, President W. Semple, with Secretary H. Turner second; O. Silcock’s trophy, Rifleman J. Black, with Secretary H. Turner second; T. Forrest’s trophy. Rifleman J. West, with Secretary H. Turner second; trophy presented by railway members, of the club, President W. Semple, with Rifleman J. Miller second: W. H. Smith’s trophy. Rifleman W. Brown, with Rifleman J. West second: J. Dickinson’s trophy. President W. Semple, with Secretary H. Turner second. The cup was presented to Rifleman A. Homan, with President W, Semple second. The Championship Shield, was presented to President W. Semple, with Deputy-presi-dent T. Forrest second.
