CHESS
OTAGO DISTRICT TOURNEY. The fifth game of the Otago district chess tourney was played in the Otago Chess Club’s Rooms last evening between teams representing the Dunedin North and Central districts. Eleven players aside sat over the boards, and some good, even games were witnessed. Central won the toss, and played white at even boards. At the completion of the night’s play the Central team proved victorious. The following is a list of the names of the players, with their wins and losses: —
Five games have now been played of the first round of six games. The scores to date are:—
The final of the first round will be played next Thursday night between Dunedin South and West.
