ARREST OF ITALIAN
BOMBS SENT TO PRESIDENT ADMISSION BY THE ACCUSED. NEW YORK, June 20. (Received June 21, at 7 p.m.) Joseph Doldo, son of an Italian factory worker, was arrested at Watertown, New York, to-day as the sender of two crude shoebox and shotgun-shell bombs to President Roosevelt during the winter. The Watertown police said that Doldo admitted trying to send a package containing improvised explosives to the President in February last and mailing other packages and threatening letters. He had since said that he did it “just for fun,” It is believed that he is mentally deficient. He is held on an open charge.
