KAITUNA CLUB. The forty-fourth annual meeting of the Kaituna Bowling Club was held in the club’s pavilion on Tuesday evening. There was a large attendance of members, and Mr E. J. Smith (president) occupied the chair. Before commencing the business of the meeting tile president referred in feeling terms to the loss suffered by the club through the death of Mr W. Henderson and Mr L. H. Frapwell, both of whom had been associated with the club for many years. Sympathy with their relatives was marked by the members standing in silence. The annual report and balance sheet, which had been circulated among the members, was taken as read. Moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, Mr Smith referred to various matters of interest, special reference being made to the work of Messrs A. Miller and W. H. Shepherd in connection with the new green. lie expressed thanks to cx-Cr J. Wilson and Mr D. Tannock for their valued services in this connection. He also congratulated the Social Committee on the excellent social held in honour of the winners of the Single Rink Competition. Air J. 11. Walker, seconding the motion, complimented the committee on being able to present such a satisfactory report. — The motion was adopted. On the motion of Mr James Allan, seconded by Mr W. F. Abel, it was decided that tbb club’s delegate, who is a member of the Centre Executive, should be cx officio a member of the club’s committee.

The following office-bearers were elected:—President, Mr W. Ripley; vicepresident, Mr G. L. Robertson; hon. treqfiiirer, Mr J. M. Adam (vice Mr Alex. Miller, who declined re-election); hon; secretary, Mr A. M'Naughton; hon. auditor, Mr F. W. Hocldinott;, committee —Messrs P. W. Curtis, H. Henderson, CLambourne, A. Miller, W. H. Shepherd, IT. Smeaton. Mr H. Smeaton was elected sole selector. Messrs J. Davis, H. 8. Reid, and 11. Smeaton were appointed delegates to the centre. Mr W. Ripley was elected club tie supervisor. It was resolved that the club enter four sections in the Saturday interclub matches, and also enter for the Four-rink Championship and the Shield Rink Competition. It was resolved, on the notice of motion by 'Mr E. J. Smith, seconded by Mr H. S. Reid, that the first year’s subscription be £1 11s 6d for all new members who have not previously been members of a recognised bowling club. Messrs Miller and Shepherd explained what had already been done towards the new green, and indicated the further expenses that would be incurred. —After a general discussion it was resolved that Messrs Miller and Shepherd be authorised to continue with the work in such way as they consider will be for the benefit of the green. Votes of thanks were passed to Messrs Miller and Shepherd for their services in connection with the new green, Mr Miller *as treasurer, Mr A. M'Naughton as secretary, Mr Mirams as selector, Mr James Allan as delegate to the centre. Mr E. J. Smith as president, the press for their reports, the, ladies’ club, and friends for afternoon tea attendance. After a full discussion it was resolved that the centre delegates be given a free band in the matter of the number of interelub fixtures.
