SWIMMING
OTAGO CENTRE A meeting of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Swimming Association was held yesterday at the Municipal Baths. Mr J. L. M'lndoe presided, and there were also present Messrs W. A. Jenkins, I). Bannatyne, D. H. Byrnes, W. H. Matthews, A. Gregg, B. Kerr, and E. G. James. . Correspondence concerning the payment for school swimming certificates was dealt with. „ , The St, Clair Life Saving Club wrote advising that the club could not take part in the queen carnival, but was prepared to assist in any function arranged by the centre,—lt was decided to write to the club suggesting that the decision should be reconsidered. Arrangements in connection with the social and presentation of prizes to be held this evening were completed. The secretary reported that the clubs were showing considerable enthusiasm in connection with the queen carnival, and many functions had already been arranged.
