PALMERSTON NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON, June 21. VALEDICTORY. ; A very pleasant function took place at the Railway Social Hall on Monday evening, when friends gathered to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs O’Dea and family, who are leaving for Dunedin. During the evening Mr W. H. Hopkins, sen., presented Mr O’Dea with a cheque on behalf of the railway (staff. Occasion was also taken to make a farewell presentation to Mr W. T. Moyle, who has received notice of his transfer to Milton. The chairman (Mr J. A. Jull), on behalf of his fellow-workers, presented Mr Moyle with a brief bag. Musical items during the evening were given by Messrs Whittleston. M'Kee, Moyle, and Earley, while many speakers made eulogistic reference to the guests. .... RUGBY FOOTBALL.
