STRUCK OFF THE ROLLS
A NEGLIGENT SOLICITOR FAILURE TO KEEP TRUST ACCOUNT. (Peg United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, June 20. The Court of Appeal made an order striking William Edgar Ward; formerly of Whakatane, barrister and solicitor, off the rolls of barristers and solicitors of the Dominion. The ground relied on by the Law Society was failure on the part of the practitioner to keep the required Trust account books. The practitioner was not represented, but counsel for the Law Society stated that he had received a telegram to the effect that an affidavit was being prepared and would be filed on behalf of the practitioner. . . 1 The court expressed the opinion that the practitioner had had more than sufficient time already, and it made an order striking him off, saying at the same time that if the practitioner had an acceptable explanation it could be made the basis of an application for reinstatement.
