Robertson, secretary, of the Ravensbourne Club, giying details of the inquiry held by the committee into the charges of, insulting language by Ravensbourne players at the conclusion of the game with the Union Club (Third Grade). One player (the captain), following on the inquiry, had been expelled from the club, and another player had been suspended until the end of 1934. Two other players had been exonerated. An apology had been sent to the referee, and also to the Referees’ Association. The writer pointed out that the club had had an unblemished record for 49 years, and that it regretted that such an incident should have occurred. His committee further considered that the Committee of Management might see its way to appoint only men of strong personality to control junior games, though it did not put forward this suggestion in the way of an excuse.—The chairman said that the club had taken up a firm attitude over the matter. —It was decided to endorse the action of. the Ravensbourne Club, and to commend the committee on the manner in which it had carried out the inquiry. T. W, Hies and J. R. Hies -were granted transfers from the Albion Club, Christchurch, to Pirates, and W. Spence from Zingari-Richmond to Port Chalmers.—lr, was decided that all applications should in future come before the General Committee of the union. D. We have just' received a ‘ ruling from the English Union which is ‘That- the unfinished match was null.’”—The chairman said that they would remember that the incident related to a match between Waitahuna and Union. Their committee had held that the game should be played again, and the New Zealand Union had held that the team which was leading at the time the referee stopped the game should be awarded the match,. The matter had then been forwarded, to-the English Union for its ruling.—lf was decided to forward the ruling to the booth Otago Union. ' ; , , The Finance Committee recommended that the Committee of Management agree to play the match against Southland at Invercargill on Saturday, .August o. instead of a Wednesday, As a consequence another Otago team will be selected .to play Marlborough- at Dunedin on the same date.
