CYCLIST FATALLY INJURED (Per United Press Association.l AUCKLAND, June 19. The death occurred to-day of Eric Arthur Cleaver, as the result of a crash from his cycle during a race at Tamaki on Saturday afternoon. His skull was seriously fractured and during the weekend his condition was critical. When as scratch man in the Auckland Cycle Club’s 25-mile road race he was riding fast in the first lap, the front fork of the machine collapsed and Cleaver was hurled to the road with considerable force. He was rendered unconscious, and club members rushed the injured man to hospital. Cleaver was a single man, aged 22 years, and lived at Mount Albert. He was a popular member of the Auckland Cycle Club. UNCONSCIOUS ON ROADSIDE (Pee United Press Association.) NELSON, June 19. A young man named George Ingram, a son of Mrs Gordon Ingram, of Motueka, was admitted to the Nelson Hospital to-day, having been found unconscious on the Riwaka main highway beside his bicycle, with a fractured skull, a fractured lower jaw, and other facial injuries. Circumstances point to the cyclist having been injured by a passing motor car. , DEATH FROM GUNSHOT WOUND (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, June 19. Robert Joseph Graham, a single man, aged 20, was found shot at the rear of his father’s residence at Woodond on Sunday night. There was a deep wound in the chest and a single barrelled shot gun was found near the body. At the inquest to-day the coroner found that death was due to a gunshot wound selfinflicted.
