FOUND DEAD IN SHACK

RAZOR WOUND IN THROAT UNEXPECTED WEALTH DISCLOSED " (Pee United Peess Association.) AUCKLAND, June 19. Evidence of unexpected wealth was discovered by, the police when they examined the body of Charles Lynn Hadfield, aged 49, who was found in his shack at Coromandel recently with a wound ia his throat. The deceased, who had settled in Coromandel about two and a-half years previously, had lived by himself and had few friends. He had previously lived at Whangaroa. The body was found by a neighbour, who informed the politfe. The deceased had a razor in his hand and two others were on a chair beside him. When the police examined the body they found, in a small linen bag hung about the neck by a string, a receipt for £6OO in New Zealand Government Bonds, a Post Office Savings Bank book showing a credit of marly £SOO, several £1 notes, and a tobacco tin containing two half-sovereigns wrapped in paper. A receipt for 10s from a solicitor for framing his will was also found. An inquest was held by the coroner, who found that the deceased died from a self-inflicted razor wound.
