REVOLTING CRUELTY

GERMAN PRISON CAMP INMATES SHOT OR HANGED (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, June 18. The Strasburg correspondent of The Times says that the newspaper Les Dernieres Nouvelles states that 11 Communists and seven Jewish intellectuals were shot or hanged at the Dachau concentration camp in three weeks. The condemned are placed in a special hut. A rope is tied to a stout hook above each bed. When one is shot or hanged the others are taken to see the body and invited to commit suicide. All the inmates of the hut are whipped nightly. Herr Arthur, a former section leader of the Rcichsbanncr, was kidnapped in Berlin and beaten to death at Schoenburg, the Nazis declaring that he had hanged himself in his cell. —Times Cable.
