SAINTS AND SINNERS
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, —You have mistaken my line of reasoning, which was merely aimed at showing to " Worker " the futility of arguing from the particular to the general. He argued that, because, as he thought, some Labour supporters were bad fellows, therefore all Labourites were bad. It was my endeavour to show Worker that even if Mr Lang was all that his opponents would have us believe he was, yet Mr Lang was a saint compared with some capitalists. And just as' no one would condemu Christianity because some Christians were scoundrels and no one would condemn capitalism because some capitalists were scoundrels, similarly no logical person would condemn the_ Labour movement even if some of its units were scoundrels. Of course, I could have stated this fact in plain English, but I chose to let; "Worker" discover it by directed logic.—l am, etc., D.G. M'Millan. Kurow, June 16. ,
