FOODSTUFFS FOR UNEMPLOYED SOLDIERS

TO THE EDITOR.

Sir,—The Roxburgh Returned Soldiers' Committee has for some time been sending foodstuffs to the Dunedin Association for distribution to unemployed exservicemen. Early in the year a large quantity of jam was sent, the fruit being provided by growers in Roxburgh , and Coal Creek. During the last two months apples have been sent in nearly every week. The , earlier consignments were from growers in Dumbarton and Millers Flat, but the later ones have all come from Ettrick, and there are more to follow from the same place. My committee desires to thank all those growers who have helped so generously in this matter. —I am, etc., i, J. R. Gilmour, Secretary Roxburgh R.S. Committee. June 18.
