THE ASCOT MEETING
A VICTORY FOR THE KING NEW TURF RECORD ESTABLISHED. LONDON, June 16. The Royal Ascot meeting ended in a blaze of sunshine. A coincidence was that his Majesty's Limelight, Sir Cunliffe Owen's Concerto, and Sir H. A. Wernher's Brown Jack were all winners on the last day as in 1932. The Kind's victory in the Hardwick Stakes was particularly popular, and, aa his Majesty said himself, "It was a good wind-up to a week's racing." Brown Jack won the Alexandra Stakes for the fifth time in succession, being ridden by Steve Donoghue. This ie a record for the turf.
