The possibilities are that a draw will be given in both the unfinished games, and this will make the total games to each club 10, constituting a tie. In this case Canterbury will probbaly be declared the winners, as the rule dealing with such a position provides that in the event of an even number of games being won by each club competing in an interprovincial match the scores shall be totalled on the first 16 boards; the club then scoring the highest number ol wins shall be constituted the winners. The scores in this case are: Canterbury 'J wins, Otago 7 wins. The thanks of the Otago Club are due to Mr T. Gillies for acting as umpire for the two evenings, Messrs Hall, M'Keague. and Mlrams, who acted as scrutineers, and Mr A. Smith, the telegraph operator.
