(From Our Own Correspondent.) LAWRENCE, June 17. . HOCKEY. The local team journeyed to Waitahuna on Wednesday and was beaten by eight goals to one. The Waitahuna ladies showed more combination than the visiting team. FOOTBALL. The Lawrence High School team went to Tapanui on Thursday and beat ; the local school team by 42 points to 8. The Lawrence team was too fast and out-, played the local team in every phase of the game. BASKET BALL. ' The Tapanui School Club beat the Lawrence School team by eight to one.
