(From Our Own Correspondent.) ROXBURGH, June 16. TEVIOT POWER BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Teviot Power Board was held on Wednesday, Dr Gilinour presiding. The following members were present: —Messrs George, Waigth, Riach, and M'Donald. Accounts amounting to £212 10s 8d were passed for payment. Receipts for the month amounted to £366 3s 4d. The District Public Trustee wrote with reference to the appointment of the Public Trustee as depreciation fund commissioner.—lt was decided that the first payment on this fund be made. Several tenders were received for the supply of a half-ton motor truck and that of Cooke, Howlison and Co., for a Chevrolet truck was accepted. The foreman supplied the readings of the station for the past two weeks, when particularly cold weather had been experienced. Those showed a variation of peak loads from 660 kw to 780 kw, the latter being the highest since 1931, when the same load was reached. The engineer recommended that as this was very close to the total output of the generators; it would be unwise to run any risk of damage through overloading, and an effort would need to be made to keep the peak clown _ between 5.30 p.m. and 6 p.m. It was decided that the Central Otago Board he advised of this. The chairman of works (Mr George) reported on the line supplying Wright’s and Fraser’s, and it was decided that it he reconstructed.

Loan conversion was considered at a special meeting of the Finance Committee held some weeks ago and was further discussed at this meeting. The total premiums on conversion to 4i per cent, amounted to £2087. and it was recommended that if this amount could he secured from the sinking fund commissioners conversion should he proceeded with. The secretary was instructed to apply to the commissioner for this amount.
