A very "womanly” magazine is the Woman’s Magazine (Messrs Gordon and Gotch), edited by Anne Hepple and full of articles, stories, and poems of interest to women. “A Japanese House,” “A Veterinary Surgeon,” “A New Use for Cretonne,” “On Trek in Southern Nigeria,” “ Little Cakes.” “ The Happy KichBox,” “How to Make a Rag Rug,” “ Skirts are Simple,” and “ Some Animals I Have Known ” are some of the articles in this lavishly illustrated and attractive publication.

From Messrs Gordon and Gotch we have received a copy of Weldon’s Bazaar of Children’s Fashions, containing free patterns of a girl’s school frock and s’eevelesa dress (11-12 years), a boy’s knicker suit, (3-4 years), and small girl’s dress (3-4 years), -as well as an amusing “chick” transfer gratis. Its fashion designs include —easy-to-make dresses for girls of all ages, new coats, boy’s wear, toddlers’ clothes, baby’s layette, sports dresses and coats, and undies. Its home section has such articles as “Furnishing Ideas,” “Bringing in the Sunshine,” and “Leaving Babyhood Behind.” There are also a complete story, “Loving is Giving,” by Mary Stuart, and pages for the kiddies.

If the 1932 Lux Book was a success, the 1933 Lux Book will be even more so. Our copy contains all the latest knitting and crochet styles for women, children, and men, and, illustrated from photography, gives a range of useful fashions. The contents include crocheted pinafore jumper and cap, long-sleeved coatee in moss stitch, cap and scarf, little girl’s beret and scarf, fancy knitted jumper in two colours, man’s scarf, man’s pullover with zipp fastening, schoolboy’s pullover,- little. girl’s jumper,- instructions for grafting, the correct way to wash things you value, fancy singlet, smart pochette, long-sleeved knitted jumper, and man’s golf socks.
