PRODUCE CONTROL BOARDS
A BURDEN ON THE FARMERS (Per United Press Association.) , CHRISTCHURCH, June. 14. “We have too many boards as it is,” said Mr E. Hay at a meeting to-day of the committee of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association when referring to a remit to the forthcoming conference of the Royal Agricultural Society proposing the establishment of a wool marketing board. “Look at the Meat Board and the Wheat Board, and all the other boards,’ said Mr D. W. Westenra. The Wheat Board was already filching away the farraers > profits. He suggested that the scope of the Meat Board might be extended to include wool. Another member said the scheme looked like another levy to get £7OOO or £BOOO out of the farmers.
