ALLEGED CHILD MURDER
MAORI WOMAN CHARGED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. (Per United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, June 14. A charge of murdering her newly born female child at Inglewood on May 16 and of disposing of the body on the same date with intent to conceal its birth was laid against Bella Thompson, a 20-year-old Maori woman, in the Inglewood Court yesterday. According to the evidence of a constable the baby was found buried and wrapped in sacks. _ The accused is alleged to have admitted the birth of the child after first denying it. She reserved her defence and was committed for trial. The magistrate postponed his decision at the inquest till after the Supreme Court trial.
