NEW GUINEA NATIVES
ATTACK ON POLICE PARTY A PATROLMAN WOUNDED. SYDNEY, June 14. (Received June 14, at 7 -pan.) A message from Bulolo states that Patrolman Mack and a party of New Guinea police, who were pursuing escaped prisoners, were attack by other natives. The latter had already killed the escapees, and thought that the police were a punitive expedition to avenge this crime. They were routed and given a sharp lesson, although, during the scrimmage, four arrows struck Patrolman Mack, and a police boy was hit. Their wounds are not serious.
