DIVERSITY OF SUBJECTS COVERED VANCOUVER, June 12. Addressing the Science Congress, Mr Edwin Cheel, of Sydney, stated that Australia had imported more than 800 plant species, some of which had proved commercial assets and others dangerous pests. Papers were read by representatives of Canada, the United States, Malaya, .and Japan showing similar results. Dr Max Henry, of the New South Wales Department of Agriculture, read a paper on Plcuro-pneumonia among herds in tjie Pacific countries. A paper by Dr P. Marshall, of Wellington, dealt wijth the physiography of New Zealand, and a paper by Dr Kidsou (Wellington) dealt with observations in the upper atmosphere in relation to. airship navigation. Information on the life of the Maori was contained in a paper forwarded by Sir Apirana Ngata.
