CITY POLICE COURT
Tuesday. June 13. (Before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.) THEFT CHARGES. A man, the 'publication of whose name was suppressed in the meantime, was charged with having received from John M'Onie the sum of £ll4. and with having failed to account for it to the Tung Oil Corporation of New Zealand, thereby committing theft. —Mr C. A. Hamer appeared for the accused.- —On the application of Chief Detective Young, a remand till next Monday was granted, bail being allowed in the accused’s' own recognisance of £2OO and one surety of £2OO, or two of £IOO. Kevin Hugh Mooney pleaded guijty to a charge of failing to account for the sum of 5s 2d, received from Ethel Dreaver, thereby committing theft. — Chief Detective Young said that a larger sum was involved, and asked for a short remand to make inquiries.—A remand till this morning was granted. Ernest Hope Vincent and Ronald Richards pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing six electric light globes, valued at 10s 0d each, the property of some person or persons unknown.- —-Senior Sergeant Mac Lean said that the accused had been arrested at about 3 o’clock tlyit morning. He asked for a remand so that the matter could be looked into.—A remand till Saturday was granted, the probation ollicer being asked to supply a report.—An application for suppression of Richards’s name was refused. Robert Cochrane pleaded guilts’ - to a charge of, on divers dates between November 15,-1932, and April 25, .1933, receiving sums totalling £l2 14s sd, and failing to account for the money to Thomas Dixon Dulziel, thereby committing theft.—Chief Detective Young stated that tlie man had just been arrested, and be wished to have time to make investigations about the accused, who came from Christchurch. —A remand till Saturday was granted, the probation officer being asked to furnish a report.
