CATHOLIC CONGRESS ABANDONED DELEGATES BRUTALLY TREATED (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MUNICH, June 11. Owing to brutal Nazi attacks on the delegates, the Catholic Congress has been abandoned and the delegates are returning to their homes. Storm Troops attacked congress restaurants and dormitories early in the morning, assaulted the inmates, broke two jawbones, and tore off priests’ badges. Lorry loads of Nazis formed a cordon around the site of the special service which was being conducted by Cardinal Saulhauber, compelling its abandonment because the police refused to accept responsibility for the safety of the participants. OFFICIAL PROTEST LODGED VON PAPEN TO INTERVIEW HITLER. MUNICH, June 11. The leader of the Swiss delegation was roughly handled and has lodged an official protest with the Bavarian Government.
