INSURANCE OF MOTOR VEHICLES
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —A few weeks back one was shocked to read of a magistrate’s ruling in which he gave it out that a plaintiff could not succeed in a claim pn an insurance company as he had faulty brakes. The motor vehicle in this particular case was practically a new one, and had also just Received an overhaul at a garage. Apparently, he took a great deal of care with his car. Surely an insurance company, or anyone else for that matter, cannot expect a layman to know ajl about the intricacies and mechanical 'working of a car. If he did, -what need would there be for garages? I think that in this case a little liberality on the insurance company’s part would have been a wise policy, as one cannot well see where the owner erred. —I am, etc., 7. Honest Methods.
