MONEY FOR CHINA
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In to-day’s issue of the Daily Times an Auckland message states that it is estimated that between £6OOO and £7OOO was sent to China during the war with Japan from Chinese in New Zealand. Undoubtedly this is New Zealand money, which should be in circulation in our own land, instead of being used to destroy life and property in a foreign country. One has not to think very hard to recognise that it is always the best policy to deal with our own countrymen and so keep our money in New Zealand and in circulation, thereby helping many business firms and helping also to lessen unemployment. —I am, etc., New Zealander. Dunedin, June 6.
