COMMON GAMING*HOUSE
POLICE RAID HOTEL CHARGE AGAINST BARMAN. (Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, June 10. Excitement was caused in the city early this afternoon when three detectives raided an hotel and arrested the bar-, man. Op entering the bar they announced j that it was being raided as a common gaming house. All the customers left, gome leaving their drinks, and the police then closed the doors while they searched for betting material. The bar doors were closed for half an hour, causing a number of people to gather outside. Later Harry M'Donald, aged 44, was remanded on bail qn a charge of using the public bar as a gaming house.
