EVEREST EXPEDITION
CONVERSATION BY WIRELESS CLIMBERS NOT YET BEATEN. LONDON, June 8. The Daily Telegraph’s Darjeeling correspondent says: The wireless operators attached to the Everest expedition achieved remarkable transmission on Wednesday, when they called up Government House, where the Governor of Bengal conversed with Shebbeare and Frank Smythe at the bale camp. Shebbeare said that all the members of the expedition were in good health. Smythe said that it must not be thought that they were beaten yet. The Governor replied that he was following the progress of the climbers with the greatest admiration, and wished them success.
