The course was in excellent condition, and the totalisator handled £2148 10s, against £2072 last year. Williams up with the others in the Novice Stakes. She was obviously distressed at the barrier, and the starter stood her aside. The veterinary. surgeon was sent for, but the mare was dead when he arrived. In February of last year she was injured during a rough trip on the Tamahine.
