CRASH NEAR MASCOT THREE PEOPLE INJURED. SYDNEY, April 28. (Received April 28, at 11 p.m.) An aeroplane piloted by James Wear, a prominent aviator, crashed when landing near Mascot Aerodrome this afternoon. Wear suffered a fractured collarbone, Joseph Cangarri, aged 20, fractured right leg and arm and nose abrasions, and Otto Heyer, aged 19, a fractured right thigh and abrasions. Chngarri and Heyer, who are seamen on the Mariposa, were returning from a flight over the harbour bridge. The mishap occurred through the engine cutting out above Mascot. The aeroplane, which was badly damaged, dropped into a muddy field. NEW FIGHTER AEROPLANE. LONDON, April 28. (Received April 28, at 11 p.m.) The Daily Telegraph says that the new experimental fighter aeroplane that has been produced for the Air Ministry has a speed of 250 miles an hour with full military equipment and a velocity dive of over 400 miles an hour.
