TO THE EDITOB.
Sib, —I have read the letter in Thursday's issue by "Rational Listener" concerning advertising programmes from B class stations. He appears to take exception to the 15 seconds' intermission during a programme from a Dunedin B station last Monday evening. Well, I would sooner listen to that 15 seconds' intermission than be bored by a 15 minutes' talk "On the Care of the Feet" from our local YA station. If this is not straight-out advertising, what is? # The Broadcasting Board pays for this t»*lk, whereas the B stations are paid for the 15 seconds' intermission. lam sorry " Rational Listener " has been offended. —I am, etc., Not One-eyed.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —" Rational Listener "is apparently referring to the programme provided by a certain company broadcast from 4ZL. I, personally, prefer programmes from.4ZL to any other, and to say thai the so-called intrusion of 15 seconds' alleged advertising ruined the programme is ridiculous. If my memory serves me correctly, the company in question merely suggested trips for Easter, and advised motorists to take the necessary precautions before commencing the trip. How " Rational Listener " could suggest that this was a means of advertising I cannot understand. —I am, etc., Satisfied Listener.
