Besides recipes dealing with soun, fish and game, meats, vegetables, cheese dishes, eggs, puddings, cakes, sponges, pastry, loaves, icings, salad dressing, summer drinks, preserves, invalid dishes, and home and pickling mixtures, etc., there are descrintions of how to cut meat, hints on how to prepare and cook each food given, articles on “ Waste Not, Want Not.” “How to Cater for the Threshing'Mill,” and pages of hints on health, poisons and their treatment, ointments and liniments, soaps and laundry hints, various cleaners and polishes. The book is also supplemented with an index in alphabetical order which adds the last mark to its efficiency.
