THE OUTRAM SCHOOL

TO THE EDITOR Siu, —Verily, it is hard to understand the ways of the committee of the Outram School. Last year the committee made two calls on the public for prize and picnic funds and spent lavishly. _ Attention was drawn to the matter in your columns and a feeble reply from the chairman followed. Not one of the allegations was refuted and the chairman wisely refrained from seeking re-election. This year the committee from pique or otherwise has decided that there shall be no prizes. Mr William Snow, who was a member of the committee for something like 40 years and also a member of the Education Board, presented a dux medal for 25 years, and at his death Mrs Snow very generously continued to provide the medal. The then committee decided that the medal should be known as the Snow Memorial Medal. Mrs Snow lias been informed by the committee that it does not want the medal this year. This means, of course, that the medal has been lost to the school. Mrs Snow has been slighted and a reflection has been cast upon the action of preceding committees. For unadulterated ingratitude commend mo to this committee. The plea that the annual children’s concert has outlived its time is pure nonsense. The packed houses with which the children have been greeted shows that they still have public support._ This is to say nothing of the educational valuo of such entertainments. —I am, etc., Resident.
