BRITAIN’S IMPORTS QUESTION IN PARLIAMENT. LONDON, December 12. Major Hore-Belisha (Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade) told a questioner in the House of Commons that British imports of gold bullion and coin from India from September 21, 1931, when the gold standard was ‘suspended, to December 9, 1932, totalled £07,500,000. Only a small proportion was in sovereigns, which were valued at par. The remainder was valued at the current gold price. He did not indicate the final destination of the gold.
