RIFLE SHOOTING
DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB. The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club shot the final competition for Mr A. J. Shaw's trophy on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of 19, and 10 shots (two optional sighters) each were fired at 500 and 600 yards. Weather conditions were fair, but a variable breeze and very dull light made high scoring difficult. At 500 yards Rifleman G. N. Smith and Captain A. J. S. Cowie, each with 47, were highest, the former taking pride of place on the count back. At . 600 yards President W. Bannerman was top with 45. Rifleman G. N. Smith headed the day's aggregate with 91. The winner of the competition was Rifleman W. A. Graham. Following are the highest scores and aggregates:— 500 600
